O VMA 2016, famosa premiação de videoclipes da MTV, revelou seus indicados. Beyoncé lidera a lista de indicações, com 11 no total, em boa parte por conta do trabalho audiovisual realizado em seu último álbum, Lemonade. Em segundo lugar, vem Adele, com oito indicações, seguida de Drake, com sete.
O VMA também lembrou de David Bowie, que faleceu este ano dois dias após lançar seu último álbum, Blackstar. O artista britânico concorre a cinco categorias, principalmente na parte técnica.
