Eisner Awards 2007 anuncia os seus vencedores

Apesar das lavadas nas vendas, DC Comics faz bonito na premiação

A lista de vencedores do Eisner Awards 2007, maior prêmio norte-americano dos quadrinhos, foi divulgada durante a San Diego Comic-Con.

Como sempre, a crítica tem reações diferentes do mercado. Apesar de estar passando por uma queda histórica de vendas, a DC Comics foi a mais premiada da noite, com 13 estatuetas distribuídas entre seus editores e criadores.

Ficou em destaque a graphic novel Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall, de Bill Willingham e vários ilustradores. A edição, que foi publicada nas últimas semanas no Brasil em forma de minissérie (Fábulas: 1001 Noites, pela Pixel), levou prêmios de melhor história curta, melhor antologia, melhor pintora, melhor capista e melhor letreirista (nos últimos três, respectivamente Jill Thompson, James Jean e Todd Klein, que também concorriam por outros trabalhos).

Ed Brubaker (Capitão América), que tinha quatro indicações, levou melhor escritor e melhor nova série (por Criminal, na Marvel). Darwyn Cooke teve que carregar para casa três estatuetas: uma por Batman/The Spirit ("melhor edição individual", dividida com Jeph Loeb) e duas pela edição Absolute de A Nova Fronteira (melhor álbum gráfico - republicação e melhor design de publicação).

E as duas graphic novels mais comentadas de 2006, Fun Home e American Born Chinese (ambas vindo para o Brasil em 2008) levaram cada uma um troféu, respectivamente melhor obra baseada em fatos e melhor álbum gráfico inédito.

De material que já saiu no Brasil, além dos mencionados acima, há Batman: Ano 100 (melhor minissérie e melhor escritor/artista, para Paul Pope) e All-Star Superman (nossa Grandes Astros: Superman, com melhor série contínua).
